The leading Data card services provider of India, Tata Docomo yesterday announced that they have upgraded their CDMA network which now have a capacity to deliver the speed of 9.8 Mbps. Tata Photon users which are using Tata Photon Max Wi-Fi can use this services without any extra cost.\r\n
“With the demand for high speed data connectivity rapidly rising, this network augmentation will further enable our customers to enjoy high speed data connectivity. Tata Docomo will become one of the leading players to offer Rev B Phase II network in India,” Tata Teleservices head Marketing for Mobility Gurinder Singh Sandhu said in a statement.
\r\nTata Photon was earlier providing the highest speed of 7.2Mbps in a few cities and rest of the cities were powered with speed of 3.6 Mbps only. Around a half year ag MTS upgraded all its CDMA network and powered it with Rev B Phase II network which have capability of providing Data speed of 9.8Mbps. From that time it was expected that Tata Docomo will also take the similar step. Late but still on time the announcement is live now.\r\n\r\nFor now the Tata Photon Max Wi-fi users of Delji, Kolkata and Mumbai will get benefit of this upgrade. This service will be soon expanded to all the cities where Tata is having its CDMA sites. This upgrade is only enjoyable for Tata Photon Max Wi-Fi users, rest of the Tata Photon devices do not have the required Hardware for this technology.\r\n\r\nAll the user of Tata photon Max Wi-Fi will be automatically upgraded to this service and will not be charged a single penny. No services will be changed, everything will remain same.\r\n
“All existing customers will automatically be able to access the higher speeds on their network as the network upgrade will be compatible with their existing Photon Max Wi-Fi devices. The Wi-Fi feature allows consumers to create their personal Wi-Fi zones and connects up to five devices simultaneously,” the statement added.
