Reliance Communications being one of the top telecom player in 2G sector is now planning to grow in 3G sector also. For its existing 3G customer Reliance signed a deal with Tata Tele services and Aircel. According to the deal Reliance customers will now be able to Roam in all the telecom circle of India (except Jammu and Kashmir) with help of either Aircel or Tata Docomo network if RCom is not having licence in that particular Area.\r\n
“We are delighted to be the first operator to offer 3G national roaming to our customers in partnership with other telecom firms having state-of-the-art 3G networks.
“These alliances will further consolidate RCom’s position as the leading data operator in the country and will help the Company improve its post-paid and Corporate customer market share,” RCom’s Chief Executive Officer for Consumer Business, Gurdeep Singh, said in a statement.
\r\nReliance is not having access to 3G spectrum in 9 circles of India. In these circle somewhere Aircel and somewhere Tata Tele owns the licence. In telecom circle of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and UP East now Reliance customers can Roam with help of Aircel while in Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana and UP west Tata Tele networks will help in Roaming. \r\n\r\nIn return Tata tele services limited and Aircel customers can now roam to 3G circles of RCom. This can be a big benefit for these companies since RCom owns licence in metro circle of Delhi and Mumbai. This is important to note that this agreement is only for Roaming in circles where the companies not having licence in any specific circles. User can’t get services from Tata or Aircel network where Reliance is also providing 3G services.\r\n\r\nReliance was having 36.2 million data users in the end of 2013.
