Reliance Communications shuts down CDMA operations partially

India’s largest CDMA player RCom with 5 million CDMA users recently announced that they are now shutting CDMA operations and by the end of may, CDMA will all be out of the market from 17 circles and later from remaining 4 circles too.  Since the may is over now, we have seen that users who were not upgraded or ported are not getting signals.

Many users of Reliance CDMA reported to PlanDekho that they are having signal bars and getting SMS but Calls are not going through. Sometimes they get the call but it gets disconnected before they pick it up.

Reliance Communications in march asked the customers who were using CDMA connections to switch to their upcoming 4G GSM service so that they do not lose the number. This upgrade was aggressive in 17 circles as RCom there has a tie up with Upcoming Telecom Giant Reliance JIO for 4G services.

Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka were 4 circles where this shutdown was not much expected but users from Rajasthan are already reporting no Signal bars.

If you are among the existing reliance customers then we suggest you port out or upgrade to 4G of reliance to continue your service.

If you have any doubts or question regarding Reliance CDMA getting closed then you can comment down below and expect a reply at the earliest.

  1. It is a very bad situation and de-stabalise a stabilised system. Reliance never thought of their clients.

I paid a one time of Rs. 3000/- for getting 1GB every month for certain conditions. Can reliance pay me back?

I was using a phone number for almost 25 years, can relience do anything for it?

Why the transformation is not automatic?

Worst part that Reliance invite comment.

  2. In Reliance 4G SIM internet is not working and customer care are asking to visit the Reliance Store for SIM software update. Stores are charging for 4G SIM and software updates. it was not a fault of customer if SIM was not already updated for Internet setting. why we should pay even when my CDMA handset is of no use because of Reliance.
