BSNL hiked their broadband plan rates yesterday. Have a look inside to know about BSNL new broadband plans and price
After a competitive period by major telecom operators in Voice call charges, the companies are all set to hike their prices for data plans and broadband plans. According to an announcement recently, DoT is going to increase the license fee given by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs), which makes it very sure that the Internet is going to be a bit more costly than it is now.
The announcement by DoT (Department of Telecommunication) is only for private telecom operators, but BSNL wants to take advantage of this announcement by revising their broadband plans and strengthening their revenue model. BSNL already enjoys the bigger status in Indian Broadband market by having a huge and flexible coverage across India. In recent years, BSNL has been challenged by many private Internet providers like Reliance Broadband, Airtel Broadband, Beam Telecom (Hyderabad), You Broadband (Bangalore and Mumbai), Tikona Teleservices (Mumbai and southern India) etc. All these are popularly growing internet providers in India, but hikes like this makes it even harder for people to shift to broadband from Dial-up and mobile Internet. BSNL has been in the market since a long time now and offer some flexible unlimited plans, but all the ISPs I mentioned above offer truly unlimited plans at even cheaper rates.
BSNL has hiked the broadband rentals with 25 and the popular plans will cost you more by even 50 or 100. Below is a list of the previous plans as well as the revised plans. Have a look below to the image telling about the new as well as the old rates for BSNL unlimited broadband, note that all the rates mentioned are only for postpaid subscribers.
