There are many countries without the national roaming. Countries like US, Canada and even Pakistan charge nothing when a user is out of his home circle. India is a country where mobile operators were charging huge amount for national roaming till the TRAI asked all the mobile operators to make roaming affordable or free.
It’s been a few months since then and companies are still thinking on that idea. Now, Aircel becomes the first ever company in India to introduce roaming free plan. In an event yesterday, Aircel launched One Nation One Rate plan which ensures that you do not need to pay any extra charge when you are out of your home circle. This plan has one condition, that you need to be on your service provider, i.e. Aircel.
This service is launched all over India including circles like Rajasthan, Delhi, Karnataka, Mumbai, UP, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Tamilnadu, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra etc.
In the new package, Call rates will be 1 paisa/second in home circle as well as while roaming. Incoming calls everywhere across the country will be free.
SMS will be charged as Rs 1/SMS for both, local and national. And Data charges will be 10paisa/10KB If you haven’t activated any data plan.
Aircel has already been a big name in mobile data. Aircel made big impact after they launched their fully unlimited Pocket Internet plan at Rs 98. After that, Aircel was the first telecom operator to launch 3G at an affordable rate. Now, Aircel is all set to be a giant in voice calling too.
